The Cedars Business Incubation Centre in Hemsworth was selected to take part in a Business Link funded benchmarking exercise carried out by the United Kingdom Business Incubation organisation that accredits and benchmarks Business Incubation activities nationally as well as monitoring the international and global incubation industry.

The centre received a very positive conclusion of the UKBI’s examination of the quality of the centre’s services and performance. Toni Wanklin, Marketing and Development Manager, UKBI, commented:
“UKBI currently undertook a benchmarking review of the Cedars Business Centre. The review team were extremely impressed with the team at Cedars; their dedication to providing quality business incubation and the nurturing and supportive environment which is fundamental to the process is clear as is the impact they are having on their clients – both in terms of their business development, but also the personal skills of the entrepreneurs involved. They are an example to others in the community.”
Such high praise is noteworthy but more importantly it identifies that the citizens of the District are receiving a service of the highest order which needs to be recognised both internally and externally. UKBI have invited Wakefield Incubation team officers to speak at their nationally organised events to tell the incubation community of the Wakefield approach to supporting local businesses and its success.
