Following the setting up of the Economic Taskforce, which includes Wakefield Council, Wakefield development agency first and others to pool together resources and knowledge to provide businesses with a credit crunch helpline to advice and guide companies and individuals with practical support to survive the current economic downturn.

Cedars finds itself at the forefront of helping small and medium sized businesses that are coming for advice and help to ease the impact of the financial crisis on their livelihoods and the local economy. Helping both businesses and citizens from local communities in areas of high depravation.

The Cedars Business centre could best be described as a CAB for businesses, where local business proprietors, some lifestyle are finding a sympathetic ear and more importantly practical advice to help them where possible through the difficult financial times being experienced by most.

This is a part of the Councils practical support through the economic taskforce which has been set up to help businesses, families and individuals through difficult financial times in the Wakefield District.
