The Cedars welcomes its first social enterprise tenant. Cream Catering Community Interest Company is a new social enterprise company that provides catering services for extra-care schemes across Wakefield.
Its current contracts, with Hanover Housing and Yorkshire Metropolitan Housing are to deliver a choice of three course lunches to elderly residents at two sites - in Pontefract and Kettlethorpe.
The social aim of the company is to ensure that a proportion of the employment opportunities created are given to those people who have been long term unemployed due to mental ill health and who are looking to get back into work. The Cedars will provide high quality office space and support to Cream as it continues to develop and grow.
